What to Know
Asia is a fantastic place for people of all budgets to travel. The most expensive part of your trip may just be getting to the country, unless you are staying in really fabulous hotels.
Before you arrive, research visa requirements. As an American, I need visas for four of the nine countries I visited. This all depends on your length of stay and nationality.
Be aware of different cultures and respect them! For instance, it would be very disrespectful to wear jean shorts in Myanmar despite the heat. If you visit religious sites, note the dress code. You may not be able to wear shoes inside, as is the case at temples in Vietnam. Do a little research before you go and you'll be just fine!
Credit cards are accepted at tour companies and hotels. But many countries utilize cash more so than cards. Make sure you always have cash on you.
