Countryside Coziness at Manoir Hovey February 28, 2018 / If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I was in eastern Canada for a long weekend with my sister a month ago. We spent two nights in Quebec City, one might in the countryside, and one night in Montreal. It was so easy to get to from Atlanta and I would highly recommend the area! The highlight of the trip for me was our short, but sweet stay at Manoir Hovey. The countryside coziness at Manoir Hovey was at an all time high, especially with the chilly 20°F weather. We rented a car in Quebec City and drove 2.5 hours to North Hatley, a small little town in the countryside, in order to reach Manoir Hovey for the night. Manoir Hovey sits on the edge of Lake Massawippi so it’s absolutely stunning and the lake provides plenty of activities to keep you busy in the countryside. I wish we’d been able to stay longer – we absolutely adored our stay! Each room is decorated differently at Manoir Hovey – we stayed in a red room with two double beds, a fireplace and en-suite bathroom. However, we got to peak our heads into other rooms and each room is more adorable than the next. Our first afternoon we grabbed a drink at their on-property pub before dinner. The magic really is in the details at this hotel. The decor make you feel like you are at home, instead of in a luxury hotel. I wish we’d been able to stay longer becasue I would have loved to cozy up in their library with a good book by the fire. After enjoying a yummy breakfast the following morning, we were able to go ice fishing for the first time. Manoir Hovey allows you to enjoy one complimentary activity during your stay and each day’s activity is different from the next. Manoir Hovey set up a fire and a pizza oven on the ice – did you know that ice has to be 4 inches thick to safely walk on it? – and provided a resident fly fish expert to teach us how its done. In addition to ice fishing, you can go ice skating, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing and more in the winter. I would love to visit the hotel in the summer or the fall when the leave have changed. During the warmer months, you can go kayaking, fishing, visit nearby wineries, go hiking and more to fill your time. Manoir Hovey is a Virtuoso Hotel – Virtuoso is a consortium of the best luxury travel agencies, hotels, ground operators, cruise lines, etc. around the world. I work at a Virtuoso travel consultancy in Atlanta so our mutual membership in Virtuoso means that I can provide extra perks at Manoir Hovey for my clients staying here! I have clients booked for a stay here in September and can’t wait for them to experience countryside coziness at Manoir Hovey! Countryside Coziness at Manoir Hovey!
