Featured In December Issue of Atlanta’s Jezebel Magazine! February 16, 2018 / At the end of 2017, I was so flattered and excited to be featured in the December issue of Atlanta’s Jezebel Magazine. I shared my picks for the top 5 destinations millennials should travel to this year. In today’s post, I’m tickled to reveal more of why these five wanderlust-worthy destinations are not to be missed so keep on reading… Iceland Iceland has become a major bucket list destination within the last few years for those who want outdoor adventure and sweeping views of amazing landscapes. It’s easy to get to and flights are cost-effective. … Depending on time of year and hours of daylight, you can easily visit Iceland over a long weekend making it manageable with busy work schedules. Pro Tip: Visit the Blue Lagoon directly upon arriving in Iceland before checking into your first hotel. Be sure to book the VIP ticket to have access to the…… Dream Hotel: Deplar Farm Belize Unfortunately, due to the horrible hurricane season we had in 2017, travelers have ruled out much of the Caribbean – although I’d encourage clients to keep visiting the Caribbean because tourism will help the islands recover and many islands were not affected at all. Due to the weather, I think Central America will be a really popular destination. It’s less expensive than the Caribbean and the water is equally as gorgeous. I was just in Belize and it was absolute paradise. Plus, the world’s second largest barrier reef is just off the coast of Belize so the snorkeling and scuba diving are amazing. Pro Tip: Head further south in Belize to avoid the crowds in Caye Caulker – it’s the busiest part of the country because it was developed for tourism first but the rest of the coast has just as much to offer. Dream Hotel: Copal Tree Lodge Bermuda While zika is not as much of a buzzword as it was a few years ago, many millennials are getting married and starting families. For those wanting to get pregnant or travel on a babymoon, Bermuda is a perfect spot. It’s romantic, close to the U.S., has a fun culinary scene, beautiful blue water and is zika-free. Pro Tip: The America’s Cup was in Bermuda June 2017 so that means there’s great sailing here. Book a private boat for the day to see the island from the water. Dream Hotel: The Rosewood Bermuda – reopening soon after major renovation! Sri Lanka Sri Lanka is still a bit off the radar, but it shouldn’t be! Millenials want value when they are splurging on a big vacation and for those who can’t afford the Maldives, it’s an amazing alternative for gorgeous beaches. Plus Sri Lanka offers so much more, including elephant experiences, surfing, whale watching and vibrant green tea fields Pro Tip: Any surfers out there? Sri Lanka is a surfer’s paradise, plus it’s not nearly as crowded as other famous surf spots, such as Bali. Dream Hotel: Uga Ulagalla Italy People go back to Italy time and time again because there’s just so much to see. … What will be newly popular is getting off the beaten track for millenials have already been to Rome, Florence, Positano, etc. One great example would be visiting the autonomous region of Sardinia, which is known for being a destination for wellness, relaxation, beaches, old Roman towns and of course, wine. Pro Tip: Treat Sardinia as its own destination, instead of a weekend trip from mainland Italy, and spend at least a week on island. Dream Hotel: Hotel Cala di Volpe Thanks so much for all your support following me on the blog, my Instagram, and for reading my feature in Jezebel Magazine. I hope this post gave y’all a little 2018 travel inspiration. If you’re planning a trip this year, don’t forget that I’m your girl!
